BOSCH

MEDIA CAMPAIGN: FOOD WASTE

This survey story for Bosch home appliances formed part of a media campaign to promote their new line of refrigerators.

Campaign

Together with our research arm, OnePoll, we conducted a survey on behalf of Bosch home appliances, to find out how much food is typically wasted by Americans, and the main causes and types of food being spoiled.

Our research revealed that a significant volume of food is regularly thrown out (103 pounds per year!) with fruit most commonly going to waste. And the reason for so much spoiled food? Of the 2,000 Americans polled, 77% blamed the fact they forgot what was in their fridge, and 71% wished their appliance kept food fresher for longer. Over three quarters of those polled claimed they would eat more healthily if it lasted longer in the refrigerator.
